Gleneagles Hotel
FRM was approached by The Gleneagles Hotel and the main contractor to take over the management, administration and running of the renovation and redevelopment of the top floor on recommendation from a previous clients MD. This was the largest renovation project the hotel has undertaken, and involved the conversion of the top floor of the Grade B listed main building from existing letting rooms to the luxury Spirit Suites. The project was 8 weeks behind programme when we inherited the project and the hotel maintained full occupancy along with several governmental summit meetings and oil conferences booked into the incomplete suites. The project required the complete strip out of the existing structure back to its’ shell, the diversion and new installation of new services into a floor void that was insufficient in depth to accommodate drainage and into a ceiling void that was causing the desired layout of the suites to be compromised in regard to acceptable head heights. The level of detail, specification and finish was exceptionally high both from a financial as well as a skilled labour point of view and the restricted access, distances and unforeseen service obstacles caused the project ever increasing complexity. The project was delivered within budget and on time.
